upsampling

Description

In digital signal processing, upsampling, expansion, and interpolation are terms associated with the process of resampling in a multi-rate digital signal processing system. Upsampling can be synonymous with expansion, or it can describe an entire process of expansion and filtering.

Will upsampling make any real sense?

Hey ppl,

I have received an album pre mastered at Audio CD resolution.. Now the Producer has no open sessions of the tracks & wishes to add some more instruments to the material.. (Using Pro Tools LE 7 in a PC with Digi 002 rack)

Benefits of upsamplinge before applying effects

I understand that higher sampling rates and bit depth are important when doing DSP on digital audio. I also understand that 16/44.1 is pretty much bottom of the pile in terms of quality these days.
