Question pertaining to DIY vocal isolation booth.

Cutting out background noises isn't really my concern. I write/record heavy metal, and basically I need to yell without my room mates and/or neighbors calling the cops on me. So I would like to build a small sound isolation booth. I was thinking about 3' X 3' X 6', with hinges between the walls so it would be easy to break down, and thus portable.

Closet vocal booth, is it a bad idea?

Hello everyone. I have a room with my setup. The room has carpet floor (which kills the sound) but I'm renting so I can't remove it. I get some noise from the street and I thought that maybe I could make a vocal booth in the closet. It is an average closet: about 9 feet long, 4 deep, and 9 feet high. I have auralex absorbent foams. Is it a good or bad idea? Would the sound be killed this way?

Help setting up a TALKBACK system for vocal booth

I've been basically shouting at artists in my booth to get them to respond or they crack the door open to really hear me so now I NEED a talkback system or I will lose my voice and patience.

Right now, the headphones that go to the iso booth come from a PreSonus HP4. The HP4 has only 1 stereo input so I cannot go into it.

closet for a vocal booth/iso room?

I am currently in the process of setting up a home studio. My computer setup is in my bedroom, which is almost where I am limited to recording, one problem with that is that the fan on my computer tower is not loud, but it isn't silent. I am afraid it would definitely come through with vocals on a condenser mic, or with guitar through a sm57.

Is a vocal booth necessary in this case?

Hello everyone,

I have a question regarding the necessity of a vocal booth in a certain set up.

If the studio room is totally isolated from outside noise and inside noise is almost zero(plus the gate used while recording) and the room is acoustically treated in the best way, is it still a vocal booth necessary, besides any cosmetic purposes or the pro look that it gives?
