hey I'm looking into some monitoring for mixing around the house in various spaces, while its being re-modeled and the setup moves around from room to room. I'm just wondering if its worthwhile to have both mixcubes, and NS-10's, ie, are they conveying the same information.

Looking to get some suggestions from you guys for a pair of monitors that are known to be complimentary to Yamaha NS10's. Looking known monitors that that expose flaws in the mix that NS10's don't, hence "complimentary".
I already use Mixcubes in conjunction with the NS10's.
Budget limit of $3000.00
Would like some information from people who've owned both mixcubes and ns10's.

Just thought I would see if anybody could tell me if it would be ok to use a Samson Servo 200 amp with a pair of Yamaha NS10s?
I know everyone recommends - Bryston, Hafler & Crown but I have a Samson Servo 200 and was wondering if the spec is ok and won't cause any problems.
I need to get some monitors for my little recording setup. I have heard that Yamaha's NS 10's are the way to go as far as reference monitors. Are there any that are better that are cheaper. i do not want to spend over $150 and with the ns 10's i would need to get an amp too.
My friend got these monitors off of ebay, and apparently they hook up through speaker wire and not through quarter inch.
So does he need some type of reciever? Will a standard stereo receiver work? What exactly does he need to purchase to hook these up to his sound card?
This is not a post on "what are the differences". I am hoping to gather info about which pair do most prefer. Do many still prefer the original NS10M's? or does everyone agree that the Studio's were a worthwhile improvement and the originals are too ______ (harsh, vertical :), etc.?). Thanks for your opinions!
I currently use NS10Ms as my monitors. I'm very happy with them generally but they are lacking in the bass department, and its difficult to hear what's going on sometimes. Can anyone make any suggestions as to get around this? I'd be reluctant to replace them straight away and would be more inclined to run two sets of monitors. Any thoughts on how to deal with this?
