WTF!

I removed my 1394a PCI card and put in the new 1394b PCI card...booted up the server and everything looked great.

Went to the TCP/IP settings for it and then went to my audio machine and tried to get to the server. won't go!

I try and do a repair operation on it and I keep getting the ARP Flushing error!

I have flushed the ARP as much as possible yet it still persists?

This should be as easy as 1 2 3! The way it first was when I set this up! Again, WTF?

I've made sure that all machines are set up properly with the correct IP's etc etc etc!

Any network guru's out there?

I think I figured it out with the technical support people at FireWire direct.

They have great support...live chat! I think it may be the power configuration jumper that's on the card itself.

There's two positions...one for PCI and one for Aux. The Aux get's the power from the PSU where I believe the original card got it's power from.

What tipped me off was that on the 1394a card when I plugged in the FireWire cable the PSU started up! The 1394b card it didn't!!!!

So I'm going to try the jumper tonight when I get home! Unfortunately I didn't get my cable today, should be tomorrow though!

Indeed Chris, it's all about a good laugh every once in a while! lol

I too have to laugh as well as it's so my nature to find these little things out! Being the technology guinea pig that I am! Hee hee!
