Damn these things are small. Very cool. I have a feeling I would loose at least one a week or accidently leave them in my pocket and wash them.

Unfortunantly, Data play went the way of the dinosaur about 2 months ago. The format went belly up. It is a shame too, I saw some potential. It will not be long before you will have a Gig of memory on a read /write chip that will accept all kinds of data and have sunglasses monitors for navigation simply by looking at the image. No moving parts..just moving electrons. When I saw the press release of the demise of data play..I immediatly starting thinking my SACD player may follow soon...especially in light of how nasty some of the SACD's actually sound compared to the vinyl, how difficult it is to get access to the format in terms of doing the work (good ole' boy club) Don't get me wrong, their are some fine SACD's out there...but then again...who knows..

Redbook has matured. Go listen to the newest Foreplay album. Very close to hard drive performace..and it is 16/44.1K.

It is really a shame when an MP3 done at 224K and up to 360K outperforms a CD...simply due to mastering. Perhaps Mastering for Mpeg Layer 3 (which I am good at) may take off. Imagine, 1000 mins of music on a 2 inch chip.

Tiny 25 gig hard drives (1" rotary discs) are in the works as well..but I vote for the chip.
