I'm looking for input towards the best sound that can come out from the hardware I own now. I'm doing hip hop music and it's come a long way. With all this equipment being taken to it's advantage there is one thing that keeps bothering me. When I record Vocals they seem to be coming out wrong.
I know they can come out a lot better..I've tried millions of things except one which is the Big question. I'm currently using the Pre-Amp on the mixer vs having a real Pre-amp for the mic. My Vocals sound to low quality and I know they can sound better. The other question is Does the mic I own good for Vocals. Everythign sounds clear and is pretty good. But sometimes hardware can be the issue. Is there someone out there that can help me out and lead me to the right steps.

"Coming out wrong" and "low quality" are fairly general descriptions. Can you get any more specific? It's hard to make a suggestion or recommendation based on such a small amount of info.
It could be anything - performer, mic, mic positioning, mic pre, wiring, digital sync, monitors, engineer, etc.
Get as detailed as you can about the sound, or better yet make a MP3 of your mix and vocal track soloed, and we'll try to help you as best we can.
