I purchased an Alesis ADAT machine a couple years ago and now would like to transfer my files to my laptop either by firewire or usb. Unfortunately everything I find is over $200 as it has a bunch of inputs (1/4 and xlr) which I dont really need.
If anyone has any cheap suggestions, I would appreciate it greatly. Preferably I would also like to be able to record live to my laptop by running through the ADAT.
Thanks for your help.

A Good option is FireWire M-Audio AudioPhile. I have been trying
A Good option is FireWire M-Audio AudioPhile. I have been trying it out for several weeks now and really like it. It does not have all the extra I/O you are talking about and has 24-bit/96 which is always nice.
If you look it up on froogle you can get it for about 139 + ship.
Alternativly if you want to go Internal you can really save some denero. Some of those internal card have really nice I/O and are cheap!
Hope this helps!
