hi, i'm planning on upgrading my interface and was planning on going with apollo 16 but i was reading online the sound quality is not noticeably better and for $3000 i want it to sound better than my firestudio projects.
i use logic and was wondering if maybe going Avid hardware is the way to go?
I don't use Avid so I am somewhat clueless to their current integration with other systems . What is the difference between the Analog and Digital versions? No analog ins?
Hello. I have a problem with output in Pro Tools. The thing is that I can't hear what I've recorded. When I'm recording it everything is fine and i can hear what I'm playing, but when I try to replay it, sound disappears. The bar whitch shows sound amplitude (I don't know the right term) is shows that something should come out.
Okay, so here's the question...
Is there any way to use, via USB 2.0, an audio I/O and have it recognized by two computers at the same time?
Let's say I have a USB audio I/O and I want to have a desktop PC and a laptop, both running Sonar, recognize the device so that audio feed from the Audio I/O is being sent to both computers.

Recently built a computer that's pretty robust and i'm running a projectmix i/o control surface with Pro Tools 10. now, i'm pretty versed on its operation etc but the computer this one replaced used to be my old home theater pc, which had a lynxtwo b soundcard that still gets great reviews.

I'm in need a professional interface with professional grade conversion, was wondering if the MOTU 24 i/o would do the trick or do I need
to spend the extra money on a Avid HD interface or an Apogee Symphony, to get a truly professional conversion quality?
Ill be using it with outboard high-endpreamps.

I have a pro tools rig I want to use with an analog console; I want to use the console to set levels for recording/tracking and for mix down (as opposed to using the virtual mixer on pro tools). basically using pro tools as tape machine.
I have a Tascam M520 board and FW1082 I/O.
