Has anyone heard when this card is going to reach the market? I've heard rumours that it will be released at the end of this month. Anyone know if this is true or not? I've also heard that it will be considerably more expensive than the USB card. I e-mailed Apogee about a fortnight ago and havent heard anything back.
I just bought a Mini-Me with USB, but if the release of this card is indeed imminent, I'd like to hold off from buying the Mini-Dac until I can get the FW version, and use it's digital through mode for the Mini-Me.

Thanks Duardo for clearing that up. I'm still waiting for my Mini-Me to arrive :evil: I don't think I'll bother waiting for the FW card for the Mini-DAC, as Apogee will offer it at a discount for USB owners. They still haven't bothered to answer my e-mail to confirm this though.

I think that those rumors came from earlier this year, when Apogee was saying they'd ship by the end of the year. I read a post recently from Max at Apogee saying that they've got to finish the AMBUS Firewire cards before they do the Mini's, so it will probably still be a while. And it will be considerably more than the USB card.
You will be able to buy the Firewire card and install it yourself, so if you don't want to wait you could buy the "regular" MiniDAC now...
