I purchased 2 MD421 U-5 mics good shape, If I am mistaken there are MK II 421's and just ol 421's? What are the difference and which one is a better mic?

I've used several generations of the 421, I currently own 3 of the latest rev. They're great mics and not that much has changed if you use them for what they're best at, slap and punch off of drums. I find they're good for a hard horn tone too, plugin some reverb and you'll have a very good color to work with.

I guess the 421 is there for more than 50 years now. Great microphone!
