Nothing is wrong. If you want to record mono, plug your microphone into either the left or the right inputs. In Vegas 8, select left or right inputs. Then you are recording Mono. You can then position that Mono Channel anywhere within the stereo sound field. Smack dab center for your lead singer. Or, anywhere you want to put the signal in the stereo mix. So you're not having a problem and no operator error. Your Mono selections are either left or right. You certainly cannot select wrong.

sorry. how do i monitor the sound? meaning. how do i hear my self when recrding? because its not letting me. thank you

If u want to hear your self u must adjust the MIX Knob. Its the second one from the right on top. you should adjust is to straight up (in the middle, or further depending on how much vocal to music variation you want) Hope this helps.

Just a bit more info. I run my fast track pro to a stereo amp (like the one on a home stereo) and use the head pnone thru the amp, cuz wen u set the MIX knob to the middle it makes both vocals and music pretty hard to hear, but you can crank the amp for the head phone to make up for it.

Turn it to the left for more vocal volume, or to the right for more music volume in the middle for equal volumes.

how do i hear mono on both headsets? im only hearing on the left.

actually. i still havnt figured out how to get sound in my headphones when im recording. i cant monitor my voice input. it use to work. but today it doesnt for some reason.

Check all your audio drivers, make sure there still set to the interface.

this is just retarded on my part. before i was able to record flawlessly. no problems what so ever. now i cant convert to mono. i can only put it on 'stereo left'. i cant monitor my input recording (cant hear my self when i record) because theres no option for it. and all my recordings are WAY too soft because of the setting on 'stereo left'

Try these, If you have it pluged in with an AC adapter, turn off the computer, and then turn off the interface, count to five turn it back on, then turn the computer back on. And test it as you normaly would.

If your just running off the USB phantom power, just shut the computer down for a min or two, an turn it back on. And test it like you normaly would. Mine usta do that when i used it on constantly, then i slowed down and just used it an hour or two at a time, then i quit. If that dosent fix it.... Srry i dont kno whats wrong. And always check the drivers of the recording system as well as the drivers of the computeeee
