Hey Chris,
I've been using Digi 001 for several months and it's been very stable but the 24 track restriction has me looking into other options. I have a G4 500 and I don't want to buy a new computer right now. I noticed in one of your post that you run DP on a G4 400 and that you have been getting 40 + track performance from that system. Is that Audio or a combination of audio and MIDI tracks? Those extra tracks would be great but how stable is your system? With 40 tracks approximately how often do you have a freeze or crash? Can you run a few Waves or Bomb Factory plugins and still get 40+ tracks? Do you use DP3 or an earlier version? I would also welcome info from any one else out there with a similar system.
Thanks,
Robert

Hey Chris,
Hi

Yes... a g4 single processor but 40 is the tops..
no 40 + if you intend to use plugs and not have a snail on yer hands
Is that Audio or a combination of audio and MIDI tracks?
Audio..and a bit of Midi
Those extra tracks would be great but how stable is your system?
Very
With 40 tracks approximately how often do you have a freeze or crash?
It "freezes" when I try to load a waves plug with processor over 60%..every time. Other than that pretty crash free (keep in mind I'm not useing the latest stuff)
Can you run a few Waves or Bomb Factory plug ins and still get 40+ tracks?
I use Waves and Channel strip..about 15 plugs before i bury it. I demoed the bomb stuff..24 tracks 15 plugs 24 bit at 44.1 to hit 90% on the Cpu
Do you use DP3 or an earlier version?
3.0..I'm expecting to go to 3.01 as soon as I get a couple of albums out the door..
