Thought I'd give it a try here too. Can anyone give me any advice on setting Cubase sx3 to work well with an onyx 1220 (mackie). What is the ideal bus set up (VST connections)...etc..
Also any thoughts about this basic set-up? Anyone else using an onyx based small scale setup with Cubase sx3?

Hey there. I looked into getting an Onyx 1620 to run with SX3, but ultimately decided not to because the Onyx boards weren't designed to do what I wanted them to do. Specifically, serve as both an input/mixing board and act as a controller for Cubase. I'm sure it's a fantastic mixer, but it isn't a control surface for audio software. So I ultimately got a Mackie Control Universal to control Cubase and I'm waiting for an RME Fireface 800 to arrive for my inputs.
