My laptop started playing up earlier today, i put a floppy in the drive and when i tried to access it the drive made a really bad vibrating noise, i would compare the sound to a small radio controlled plane!
I took the disk out and it stopped...
Now my laptop is constantly making the noise, it is definitely coming from the floppy drive...ive tried disabling the drive in xp which doesnt seem to change anything, is there a way to fully disable before the OS boots up? anyone know whats happening in the first place?

i believe if you go into the controll panel under the start menu
i believe if you go into the controll panel under the start menu, somewhere under system you will find the device manager where you can enable or disable each driver for specific hardware.
