Does anyone know if the Layla3G mic preamps are any good? At what level do you think they would come in at? i.e. as good as a PreSonus micpre, VTB-1 or Mackie pre?
I was considering upgrading to the Layla since I needed a mic preamp and have the Gina24 which doesn't. The Gina24 only has two line ins and now I need more. The Layla has more inputs and a mic preamp which makes me wonder if I should upgrade to the Layla.
Opinionsor observations on their pres for this rig is appreciated?
Thanks in advance,
DennisT

I'm sorry, I meant to put this in the Budget Gear section rather than the Pro Gear. I would move it but I don't know how, so please excuse my noobe mistakes... :?

In the meantime doesn't anyone have an opinion or know about the Layla 3G pres?
Bumping...
Thanks DennisT
I don't have personal experience with the m myself but my friend
I don't have personal experience with the m myself but my friend who uses the mona says the pre's are decent.
The thing with all these type of pres is that none of them are probably that much better than each other (presonus, platinum focusrite). What you are looking for in these pres is transparency. Having the pres closer to the AD conversion should shorten the signal path and thus produce less noise.
What do you want to use the pre's for?
