I'm going to format two hard drives for new DAW. My old hard drive is a crappy 20G IDE for applications. My new one is 120G SATA. I'm using XP and was wondering what opinions any one might have in regards to Fat 32 vs NTFS. I'll be doing multi track audio recording so i'll be working with fairly large files. I've heard that Fat 32 is better for larger clusters but if you configure NTFS correctly you can increase the cluster size. I'm not two knowledgable in this kind of area and don't want to do something that is too complicated and get my self into more trouble than I can handle. What would you reccommend for someone who is new to DAW recordings who wants to have an efficient hard drive setup.

I recommend NTFS as FAT32 you would need to go into the FDISK mode to format anything larger than 32GB!
You can set the cluster size for NTFS but to be honest I would just leave it as the default as it works just fine for audio data.
Use the 20GB as your OS and App drive and use the 120GB as your data drive.
You're not going to see a performance difference between the two file formats in the long run.
