Has anyone ever used the se electronics se-1 for overheads?

Whats your impression? they are a very cheap price, and the specs look good.
do you reckon theyd be a good starting point? (my budget is UP TO $500 (max) for a pair of drum OH mics.

That looks exactly the same as the T.Bone mic i recently got. I'
That looks exactly the same as the T.Bone mic i recently got. I'm not happy with it at all. The sound it records isn't really good (at least the T.Bone isn't). The high frequency's sound very flattened and plastic like. Also when close micking my hihat i get a lot of low frequency's. Could this be the mic or are there other things i need to take into account when micking a hihat?
