Somebody please help.. I just got an amp and 2 speakers for my PC.. sure beats the small little cones.. anyway I experienced a lost in highs connecting from my com -> mixer -> amp... without EQ.. but I listened using mixer's phones the sound was ok... but when I use my earphones to listen from the amp headphone out.. the sound was like the speakers.. boomy and no highs..
The hi-hat and cymbals all sunk into the back. But when I connect direct from com -> amp the sound was ok. Im using a Mackie DFX-12 and I suspect that the problem lies between the mixer and amp. Can lousy RCA's suck out the highs from the sound? Or is it my mixer just can't go well with my amp. My amp's a 300 watt music amp with 3 channel speakers.

Yup, Phono inputs are "EQ"d (for lack of a better term) differently than standard inputs. I don't know the technical terminology, but basically LPs are printed with some sort of special information that has to be handled by a dedicated phono pre.
Like I said, I don't remember the technicality of it all, but it amounts to specialized EQ, like you mentioned. :D

haha.. I've found out the problem. I plugged my mixer into the Phono input and the com to the Aux input... The phono input in amps are like EQ-ed? the highs are lost using phono. Now everythings fine when I plug into Aux....
I thought music amp inputs should be flat......
