Another vote for the Powerbook- don't underestimate a few extra inches of display, especially if you're working with a bunch of synth plugins.

I'd recommend RME, but I'm moving from a MOTU 2408 to a Hammerfall, so of course I will support my own decision... :)

I'm borrowing a G4 400 Powerbook for the weekend to try out with a MOTU interface (If it's good I'll probably get the 550). I'd be interested on how the RME performs.
