Your an Imbecile!
A person of moderate to severe mental retardation having a mental age of from three to seven years and generally being capable of some degree of communication and performance of simple tasks under supervision. The term belongs to a classification system no longer in use and is now considered offensive but appropriate to describe you dementedchord.

you may not "apprciate my style of comunication" and you take offense at some of the words i used ... which i would point out to you is Your Taking.. and has nothing to do with intent... if you search my posts on here you will find my suggestions/comment to be (if you'll allow me) accurate or at least base in a reality found through experience... in short you dont know me dipshit... and for you to suggest somehing imbecilic in me is laughable and rather pathetic .... especially i light of my attempt to prevent you from doing what most if not all in attendence would consider a real DUMB BOY move...
so in closing allow me to simply say
BITE ME !!!

Alright folks !
Maybe I need to re-word what I was trying to say ...there is 2 type of format you can use, NTFS and Fat32 and even Fat16if your on win 95.98
Ntfs as a security features and markers when it writes to the hard disk , Fat 32 does NOT do that ..so I thaught maybe it be little faster...I also realise that Fat32 are 32 k clusters and the maximum Hd size for fat32 is something like 120 gig....
I thaught this was the right place to ask about question like this without getting a "Leave them the F**K alone" and also your reply does not make alot of sense so maybe when you actually have an Idea of what your talking about you can reply to people with respect and knowledge.

actually i was kinda glad to see someone had posted on this thread again as i couldn't remember which forum i had seen it on and thought i had been alittle harsh with a newbie... but it seems i'm still to be attacked... get alife/buy a vowel whatever it is you do... additionally i was going to suggest you use the search function which may have yeilded some info to better address your issues and prevented our tete'et tete' (sp?) and the reply (expletives aside) does make sense... as to my respect i actually give you the same as anyone unlike you i dont reserve it for those i personally deem worthy... as to my knowledge... besides being a degreed musician... (theorycomp/jazzer) i also attended a computer tech type joint
after which i did service work on musicall instrumentsfor 15 yrs.. warrantee certified for crown kurz roland korg qsc yamaha got the pic??
geez ya just gotta get personal dont ya.... ok...
not withstanding any ire deserved ... i found your attack sophomoric/banal.. and your seeming desire to elevate youself by adhereing to some polysylabic ideal coupled to the need to prove me wrong somehow while cute... just shows an underlying insecurity in your own intelligence.... you see some of us are as smart as you would pretend and until now i dont think i "used it against" you... no... no need to respond... i wont be listening... tell your priest/god/therapist i dont give a ratsass... BTW the moderators would probably appreciate it in the future if you save your attacks for off topic....
Many of us have answered the same questions time and time again.
Many of us have answered the same questions time and time again. I can understand dementedchord's response. Although like myself, sometimes he is not exactly politically correct on how he addresses certain questions. People new to our business frequently use incorrect nomenclature and lingo that is at best confusing when trying to answer a question regarding a problem. Thankfully, I don't get wedgies from my pantyhose.
When it comes to recording on a PC compatible computer, NTFS IS the disk file format to use. Buffer size generally refers to a recording interface and software combination and should not be confused with the 2MB or 8MB cache buffer indicated for most hard disc drives. Which is also nonadjustable. Your buffer size within your software for your recording interface may need adjustment if you are experiencing clicks and pops and other erratic aberrations that are evident upon playback. There is actually no proper setting to specify, only suggested starting points to try.
Most modern recording interfaces for PC, generally require a minimum of Windows 2000 Pro or Windows XP. Windows 95/98 are still fine for people who do nothing more than e-mail and Web surfing but are really inadequate for any kind of production on a professional level and many of the software's not even support it anymore.
Many of us professionals have wasted an inordinate amount of our free time, to help many enthusiastic people. Everybody gets up on the wrong side of the bed once in awhile, especially when you've heard the same questions repeated numerous times. Can you say "Groundhog Day"??? I loved that Bill Murray movie! I think I've lived that life??
Oh no it's happening again!

$ .02
leave them the fuck alone... the discussion you see around these forums concerning latency and buffer size is not for the drive but for the interface and how it communicates with the prog... ( the size of the "packets" of audio that are being thrown around by the cpu and its ability to store in temp files then play in turn affects the delay we hear)
ditto on the fat 32....
