Hi guys,
Wondering if you can point me in the best direction to get started making my own patches. I have many sounds in my head that I would like to replicate physically, if only I knew how.. Would a computer be the easiest place to start? What software should I use? I've never attempted this, and I don't have a clue how patches are made, so even the most elementary advice on the subject would be useful for me. Thanks!

I don't know about that, used to do it more when I had MIDI hardware. Now that I'm in the box I tweak more, instead of starting with a blank slate.
Macprovideos.com just released some tutorials for sound design for dance music. not free.
Lots of stuff on YouTube for specific instruments.
