I'm just curious on what other people are doing for this. I have a cakewalk Sonar 3.0 producer edition recording platform. I'm using the Delta 1010lt cards for audio input and an allen and heath mixwizard 16 for my mic preamps . My specific question has to do with mixdown. I wanted to find out how other people do this. I hate using the mouse and keyboard to manipulate the faders in the program for my final mix, yet I cringe at the idea of repatching my Mixwizard and running the audio through two more a/d d/a conversions. I had thought about purchacing the New Mackie Control Universal but wanted to see if there were any other ideas about how I can mix down on a more user friendly manner.

Thanks!

You have just as much potential in doing as much damage to your mix and even more by processing only within the digital realm as you do worrying about another layer of conversion. It is VERY common to go through an analog board for mixing and then back into digital creating the 2-track master and then even back to analog for mastering and back again to digital for final distrubition.
