Ok, Any ideas why the new MOTU drivers will not work in either WinXpPro, or Win2000Pro? The wave driver gives a "Code10" error "Device Cannot Start". I know of several people who have been having this same problem and a solution has yet to be found. I've had the same thing on two different chipsets (both Intel and Amd), with two different graphics cards on both operating systems. Other things I have tried include but are not limited to:
Clean format and a complete reinstall (several) -same error code
Changing Pci slots -same error code
Assigning different IRQ's manually in the bios to diffent PCI slots. -same thing
All Windows updates and/or latest service packs, all latest driver updates (chipset and otherwise) -Same dang thing...
Tried it with nothing else but a graphics card (ALLusb, serials, and parallel port as well as onboard sound disabled in the bios.) -Still same thang...
Every conceivable windows tweak as well a non-tweaked windows. Still same-dang thang..
Yes, I'm installing it correctly (according to Motu's procedures)

No, The card does not share an IRQ, it is always on its own. Especially when I install it with nothing else but a graphics card.
Yes, ACPI is disabled.
So I guess I'm just fresh out of ideas. Any thing I've left out? Or should I just conclude that when it comes to pc,MOTU CAN'T CODE THEIR WAY OUT OF A WET-PAPER SACK!

Are you saying your Motu worked okay in the Abit motherboard under 98Se ?
I run a 1224 & 2408mkII under both 98Se & W2K Pro (SP2) on an Asus P3V4X/667.
I know it's getting old but I can record 16 tracks/playback 24 running 8-10hrs a day with no problems at all.
I will be switching to an RME Multiface when I build a P4 soon though. I will keep the old system and use it via System Link.

Can you tell me what IRQ your Motu is using and what other pci devices you have?
I'm beginning to suspect that my problems under Win2000 may have been IRQ related. It seems that Motu not only needs to be on its own IRQ, but also needs a high-priority one. Most of the time I've ended up with it on either 4 or 5 which are very low-priority irqs.
Asus boards have an option in the bios called "OS Plug n' Play?" which is disabled by default. This may be good for the pci-324 as it keeps windows from reassigning its own interupts.

I just got my Asus P4T-E in to replace my Abit TH7-IIr, and I'm going to give it one last whirl. If it doesnt' work, then I'll be reduced to using Win98se, where the Motu works fine(Regardless of which drivers I use) but the system itself is not very reliable. That is until I can scrape up the cash for an RME Hammerfall and ditch this thing off on someone who has a Mac.
