A little tight on space huh? Know the feeling. My only suggestion is to find a way to get your monitors a little farther apart. Judging from the picture, you may not have any choice in the matter, but try to find a way to move them apart and back, so that your head and the monitors make a larger equilateral triangle.
Otherwise, good luck with the compy...I built mine two years ago and it still handles 24+(never really needed more) tracks with all kinds of automation, effects, and VSTi's. Sometimes DIY is the only way to go.

I've been drooling over that Asus case for a while.
The only question holding me back: is it quiet? With two 120mm fans it seems like it would be, but you never know. So let me know.
If you have an SPL meter of something common to compare the noise level to, that would really help.
ok first things first the case is awesome looking! but for me it
ok first things first the case is awesome looking!
but for me it might have been the wrong choice
1. the case has two fans 120mm back 80mm on the front intake. Total fans in for the pc is six:
80mm fan front
mobo fan
video card fan
processor fan
120mm psu fan
120mm rear fan
everything is super quite and barely audible I mean my xbox is louder than this.****edit**** the case is audible and the fan exterior fan is audible but the fans inside are quiet because of the case exterior, the DVD drive is louder than all of them when its spinning
2. the case is just so big, too big for me. I just bought a new recording desk and the case fits underneath but i can't open the front shield to put in a CD, sux! i had to stand in next to the desk
3. the case is bassically an old looking chasis on the inside and fancy plastic on the outside.

Thanx for the info, I was deffenitely not aware of the strife between PCI and PCIexpress. According the the second site it recomended to have a Gforce 6200 a low end card which I do have!
Hopefully everything will work out fine I still haven't recieved my soundcard so I haven't recorded yet.

Yes those are my new behringer b2031a monitors. I haven't recording with them yet but I imediately noticed that they are really flat sounding compared to my edirols. And they weigh alot too! Ive never had good studio monitors but im guessing thats how typical monitors wieght
Even though the Edirols suck, they're a hell of alot better than computer speakers and 5.1 systems. I like the fact they basicaly have every input selection you would ever need
How does it work out for you being in the same room as the drums
How does it work out for you being in the same room as the drums. My room is a little bigger than that actually, but I am afraid to be in the same room as the kit. Right now I am setting the kit up in the living room and tearing it down each session. Putting vox and guitar in a closet i have sounding really good.

I got a new (recently discontinued) VSL 2020 sound card supports 16 channels of ADAT recording, so i can buy another behringer ADA8000 and I can record 16 channels . For a price of $195 I couldn't resist.
****Good News****
I got the sound card installed it and updated the drives set the ASIO recording drivers and recorded 8 indipendent channels simultaneosly for the first time in my life. Hooray for digital recording. I still have to play around with the everything but its a huge advancement for me in recording. Now i can record every drum individually and eque them and all that good stuff! i now say good bye to two channel recording with my old audigy 2.
