Hi everyone and thanks for your help.
Problem:Low output level from the Onyx 800r and if cranked up it clips remaining soft.
I'm recording through the Onyx 800 into Pro Tools 7.0 with a 002 connencting the 2 with the optical pipe.
After setting the levels up I see a mismatch between the output levels from the Onyx and the levels in PT. The Onyx is pretty cranked up and the clipping LED goes often off but the levels on the Pro Tools interface are actually very low and if I bring up the gain it distortes remaining pretty soft volume. It looks like there is a mismatch between gains (+10 and -4) but I can't find anything to switch in order to verify this mismatch.
Changing preamps the sound gets louder into Pro Tools and if it clips also the meters in PT clip.
The session is at 44.1 KHz, 24 bit.
The clock is set to ADAT in PT.
I was using channels 1-2-7-8
After experiencing the problem I switched to the 002 pres and it was better.
Question: what am I doing wrong? I know it must be very stupid but I can't figure it out and there is nothing online that could help me.
Any help very appreciated. If the problem is very stupid you can feel free to call me a "moron" at the end of the reply! :D
Thanks again. Bas.
Interesting. I run the same hardware and have no probs at all. A
Interesting. I run the same hardware and have no probs at all. Are u using condensor's? Do you need phantom power? Do you have the correct inputs in PT selected? Cuase the 800r is great sounding gear.
