I always woundered about this but does personal monitor or micro monitor mean same thing as studio monitor?

What JBL is telling you is that you can stick that monitor in your ear!!
All kidding aside, that's just a marketing term. It keeps the "home studio" products from being confused with REAL studio monitors they make, like the nice LSR series.
'Nilla, whatta you care what they're called? Go for what's good for you. Too many folks at this site have told you that the bottom line on a monitor is how well the mixes you make on it translate to other speakers...stop worrying, be happy :)

nah

any monitor can be used in any place for any reason

audio and video monitors get used for ALL reasons and this is why they come in all shapes and sizes and standards of quality

A PC speaker is just as valid as a small self powerred Fostex or a big expensive ATC or Genelec
and so on
an audio monitor is used to monitor the audio signal ... simple
there are many reason or need for monitoring audio and they are not all mastering
some may be simple PreFaderListen and a 2 inch speaker hanging out of the patch panel; may be enough for the job
... the professional uses what ever gear is capable of doing the job or task set
regardless of what the name might be

It's the craftsman and not the tools that is pro

McCheese,
If you dont have anything constructive to say then why even say it? To call someone stupid is just rude and to call them out in a public forum is wrong. Dont you think this was a little harsh and you owe someone an "I'm sorry"??

Thank You!!!

Hey buddy, when you've been around here for more than a few weeks and realize this idiot is just a troll, and a crappy one at that, feel free to comment on the situation. Otherwise just stick to asking real questions or providing real answers. Thanks for your time.

Do ya think its the bright flashing lights thats attracting them?

Maybe its the promise of a free meal.

AND GET RID OF THAT STUPID BLUE INK!

vanilla-cone-boy, yer getting on peoples nerves. Your questions are subjective and you're the only one who knows what your rig sounds like. So stop asking these stupid questions that require no answer. You want people to be nice? Stop asking stupid questions.

McCheese,
First off my name is not Buddy. Why dont you practice what you preach? Of course you think it's more fun to pick on some one instead of as you say and I quote "providing real answers". I think that it would be more constructive for you to provide real answers to real questions not to mention the fact of the ego stoke that you get would be priceless! Thanks for your time.

This person, Vanillaice378, has been asking the same STUPID- MORONIC questions on his limited range of topics in lots of different forums. When people try and answer his questions in a reasonable way he just asks more STUPID-MORONIC questions.

I and others on this web site have very nicely tried to answer his questions and have also tried to suggest to him that do some addtional research and that if he has specific question someone will try and answer him but he never seems to learn. He seems to have his own agenda which he keeps pushing and will not or cannot learn from what others are telling him.

I use to think he was just newbie trying to learn and that he was a bit dense but he is looking and sounding more and more like a TROLL with every post.

TOM,
Thank-you so much for the clarification. However where I come from we do not call people stupid to there face or be mean and rude by ridiculing them. How does this look to a person new to these forums? If I ask a question am I going to get the same treatment? Is that how it is? If that is the way you feel about someone, then why not disregard his/her posts. At some point the "troll" as you put it will go away, if he/she is no longer the center of attention! I am not trying to make anyone mad. I just want people treated the way I would want to be treated. Thank-you so much for your time.

Warmest Regards,

Where I come from we also do not call people stupid and if you read my post back to Vanillaice378 you will see that I have tried to answer his questions with respect and with all of the knowledge I have accumulated in my 35+ years of audio engineering.

But there seems to be something that is bugging Mr. Ice and he thinks that by posting the same questions over and over and over somehow the purchasing decisions that he made will be justified and that somehow a collection of low end speakers will magically be transformed into a collection of well respected monitor speakers admired by all on this forum.

My science teacher in high school told us that if you could accurately throw a baseball at a fence that once in a great while all the atoms would line up correctly and the ball would go though the fence and not bounce back to you. My point is that by posting more and more and more statements about his Editrol speakers he thinks that somehow he will eventually convince others on this forum that they are GREAT speakers.

If you or any newbie posts a question on this web board they will be shown, by myself , and most others nothing but respect but that respect must be returned and if you would ask the same question over and over and over again and not listen to what others are saying then you would either be labeled a troll or ignored.

I only hope that if he is indeed a troll he will find another website to bother or if he is in need of a mental health professional he will find one soon.

Thanks for your reply

Only the best!

Macbodock...

I would have certainly addressed you directly had my comment been to you personally.

I caution you against siding with a troll. It looks bad on your resume and as you seem to be a professional to some degree, we would like to entertain your queries as best we can.

As moderators, we try our best to keep the airwaves as clean and green as we can, but occasionally there comes a person so bent on being a jerk that no amount of friendly persuasion, expert answers, or diligent kindness seems to move them in any direction at all. As such, they are veiwed as dead-air-space and have to be removed. At this moment, there is a large contingent of angry villagers with knives and pickaxes ready to do harm to ol vanillabeanice. And its because he either doesnt get it, he doesnt care to get it, or hes simply playing the troll game. This game only goes so far here and will see an abrupt end shortly.

Thanx for your concern. Please feel free to post any legitimate questions, observations, opinions, declarations of the surreal, pretty much anything other than helping a troll do his business.

Thanx again.

And YEAH....The blue ink pisses me off when used excessively.
