Well the DRS-2 has a rather different sonic character from either of those... the input is transformerless, but the tone is quite opulent.

I have found it to be exceptionally complementary with my Great River MP-2NV... the two tones just blend together like a good holandaise sause...

As always, YMMV.

I've got one, and am very very happy with it. I haven't had the chance to compare it to either of the pres you're talking about, but compared to any of the Focusrites or a couple of Neve "clones" .. plus a few other things .. I prefer it by far. Very rich, nice extended top. A modern pre that doesn't lose the best of the old. IMHO of course.

Hey guys thanks for the information. Now I really want one of these.I've been checking around and there are no American or Canadian Dealers for these pre's, you have to order them from England. Any chance that Mercenary may be carrying these anytime soon?
