so... can one private message anyone here? i know you used to be able to, but now i can't seem to figure out how...

also... can you "subscribe" to a thread that you haven't initiated, i.e. receive e-mail notifications when someone posts on it? Again, i think it used to be possible, but i can't figure it out now.

Sorry if these are disgustingly obvious questions. I'm often stumped by the mundane!
