After using several low end recording programs for my personal use, I've decided to bring Pro Tools into my home studio, transforming the studio into a digital one.
However, as I've only used PT6 in a few studios (with minimal plugin useage)... I'd like some opinions about the Mbox Factory Bundle.
Is it worth the extra $100?
I know the extra plugins you get are around $650-$700 seperately, but will you use them if, for instance... recording synth rock, and electronic music (what I produce)?
Can someone give me instances that these plugins would be beneficial?
I'm pretty sure I'm buying the factory bundle, but would like the opinions of some more experienced recorders on the matter.
Thanks in advance,
Moe

It's hard to say whether you will use them or not. You yourself would know best. One thing I will point out, with the factory bundles, you get an iLok key. That would run you $30-40 alone. An iLock key will make it possible for you to move your plug-in authorizations to different computers. So now, you are only really looking at paying an extra $70 for the Factory plug-ins.

I had heard about the iLok, but didn't exactly understand what it did. Hearing this, I know the factory buncle is what I'll be purchasing in a week. Thanks for the information, and happy holidays.

I know how most people feel about PT and Digidesign in general, but I would really appreciate a response from anyone who has experience with either bundle. Alot of my home recordings will be taken to studios that specialize in pro tools, thus it becomes the obvious choice.
