Digidesign wants to sell you hardware. That basically precludes them writing drivers for others' software.

We're all aware that PT is the industry standard, but you will find yourself able to achieve your goals using any recording environment.

I understand and agree with your point about not needing to know PT but it would be very useful to me should I get the chance to work in a 'pro' studio one day.

The PTLE software can only control digi hardware.

The Mbox can only record two tracks at a time.

With another host computer you can connect the MOTU and the the Mbox via SPIDF.

Or you can multitrack with the MOTU and bring the tracks into PTLE for mixing.

The trouble is that I don't have a Mac (hence the title of this thread "PTLE, PC & MOTU"). What I do have is a [[url=http://[/URL]="http://www.carillon…"]Carillon[/]="http://www.carillon…"]Carillon[/] (UK based company) AC-1 Core 1.
