Hey everyone, I have a question:
From my understanding, you should set a preamp's input impedance to 10 times the amount of a mics output impedance. Is this correct? And, if I decide to try a different input impedance on the pre, could it cause damage to the mic or preamp?
Thanks in advance for the help!

For math, you do what the equation and logic dictate. For audio,
For math, you do what the equation and logic dictate. For audio, you do what sounds best. There should be no harm with any impedance setting (within reason) on any mic as far as mechanics.
