I'm looking for some responces to the usage and sound quality of these two items. I'm interested in purchasing one or both to further enhance the quality of my vocals. My goal is to get excellent sound while at the same time satisfying my level of creativity.

I just recently got a VIPre. I can't say enough good things about it.
It makes my mics sound much better (and quite different) than I've ever heard them before. It is pretty amazing how much of an audible effect changing the impedance selector has on the different mics.
Also, as an instrument pre, it is awesome. I have used it extensively tracking bass, and have also run both analog and digital synths through it on their way into the computer. It adds a wonderful flavor to them.
I highly recommend it!
