I've a small problem I've been trying to sort out. A mate of mine has a 96i with his pro tools system. When were tracking we only have one mix and can only listen to wat the musician is listening to. This is really annoying especially with a click involved. I've tried to set up a seperate feed out the SPDIF but its a mirror of the 1-2 outs.

The only last thing I can think of is to set up 1 as my mix and 2 as theres. So I'll be tracking in Mono and then when mixing i can switch back over to good old stereo.

Now before I attempt this I was wondering if anyone can warn me of some of the pitfalls or a better way to set up a seperate mix with the 96i.

Cheers

I would if I could. But the problem with the 96i is it only has 2 O/P. Its a different unit to the 96 I/O.

The 96i has 16 in and 2 out. Which is a pain. The 96i wasn't designed for tracking. It was design for inputing of synths etc. So its not the most ideal situation.

I think the mono idea is the only way to do it right now. I'm just wondering if there isn't any pitfalls with tracking in mono.

Cheers
