I have a client with material on a 1" tape. We have been told that they think it is 24 track 15ips with dolby s, but maybe, just maybe it is 16 track with dbx reduction. Anybody out there have any idea where I might get this done. checked with transfermat at toy specialist, and they are not optomistic.
Thanks,
Randy

Tascam made a MSR24 that had either Dolby S or DBX depending on
Tascam made a MSR24 that had either Dolby S or DBX depending on the model. The format was on 1" Tape. They also had a more professional MS16 that was on 1" also if I remember right. I am not sure what noise reduction was used on this model. I would find someone with one of these machines, and you'll find out right away after playing the tape for a minute or two.

The Fostex G24S is a 1" Dolby S machine and so is the Tascam MSR
The Fostex G24S is a 1" Dolby S machine and so is the Tascam MSR24S, which I have and also my machine is tweaked to the +4db level.
Originally the Fostex G series and the Tascam MSR machines are at -10 level.
The MS16 must have DBX nr, Tascam had Dolby S only on the MSR.
Thanks for the replies. I guess I would be in luck if New jerse
Thanks for the replies. I guess I would be in luck if New jersey and the Netherlands were closer. I will search the net for those model numbers and see if they show up at least in the US. If not, perhaps we can work someting out long distance. My only concern is if the tapes got all the way there, and were 16 track. Thanks,
1" 24 track 15ips w/ dolby s is a Fostex format. Perhaps Tascam
1" 24 track 15ips w/ dolby s is a Fostex format. Perhaps Tascam made some of them also.
