Isn't that actually how the term "valve" came to be used to describe vacuum tubes? Because it can be used to control electron flow...

Just watch out for those BUGS they go straight thru a valve but get caught in the tube.

Valves let the gas mixture in to the compression chamber and also let out the exhausted vapors of the combustion......Tubes were a really great progressive late 70's and 80's rock'n'roll band.
