I'm looking for a 40ft. 12 channel XLR panel/XLR stage snake for recording drums in a different part of the house. I was thinking about getting a ProCo one, are there any other high-quality brands out there that I should also check out?

ever made a snake?

IMO Mogami makes the best cable. But a pre made snake with Mogami will cost you big $$$ unless you make it yourself.
Then you can order the parts to make it and have the BEST cable possible. It will cost you the same amount to build the good stuff as it will to buy the cheaper less quality cables.
And your only doing 12 channel's---that's a piece of cake. I just started making my own cables this year. It's way easier than I ever thought about.
And I've saved big bucks man! Not to mention my whole setup is with all 100% Mogami cables.
Look out cheap cable companies! Your not getting my money!
Now if I could only keep the government's greedy hands off my money

I wired a payment via Paypal two days ago to hotwired, but haven't heard anything back from them yet...And I have a drum session next and my ProCo snake crapped out  .

I've searched on Markertek for an XLR box but can't seem to find one. So how do I go about making my own snake? It needs to be 50ft, I would like to use all Mogami cable, needs a 12-channel XLR box(Female) to XLR Male, and I would like for it to have gold Neutrik connectors. So for a guy who knows NOTHING about soldering or working with cables, what do I do? :D . Thank you for ANY help
