Hey everyone. Im setting myself up with a home studio kind of thing going on and i think i've settled on what it will look like... here' what i had in mind and please tell me if something isn't right or i could get better.

Interface : PreSonus FireStudio FireWire Recording Interface ($700)
OR : M-Audio ProFire 2626 ($700)

Vocal Mic : Shure KSM27 Studio Condenser Microphone ($300)

Drum Mics : Shure PG 6-Piece Drum Microphone Package ($400)

Software : Cakewalk SONAR 7 Producer Edition ($500)

Inst Mics : Shure SM94 Recording Microphone (2) ($180 x 2 = $360)

Cables : Mogami Gold Neglex Quad Microphone cable for Studio Neutrik XLR (6) ($36 x 6 = $216)

Mic Stands : On-Stage Stands Triopod Mic Stand with Boom (3) ($20 x 3 = $60)

Estimated Total: $2536

so thats what I'm lookin at . if you have suggestions please keep the replacement ideas close to the price of what is listed.

Seems to me, you'd be much better off buying a Digi 003, an Audix Drum mic package, an SM57 for guitars, an SM7 for vocals, and a nice set of monitors. Should be around the same price, maybe just a bit over but that'd be a much better setup in the long run.

The fidelity will be much better and you'll be learning the industry standard software and you'll be compatible with pretty much every big studio on the planet if/when you need to track and/or mix elsewhere.
