Hi there.
I just bought an E-mu 1820m and Sonar 4 (studio version). The
E-mu is fantastic, and works fine, but I can't get the sound into Sonar. I get a message along the lines of MIDI unavailable, and how i won't hear anything during playback. Also, when I play the sound through the E-mu, I hear it thru my speakers, but there is no waveform in Sonar. Can someone please help a real Audio Thickie out please ?

The smart thing to do would be call tech support.
Start by loading the Product Default session within PatchMix. It is setup for ASIO. If you are getting signal showing up in PatchMix main mix meters, and all the ASIO sends are assigned within each PatchMix strip, then audio is being passed up to recording/sequencing software. Makes sure within Sonar that you are pointing the the E-MU ASIO drivers, E-DSP.
