There's something cool about physical, mechanical, playback formats. Its remarkable to think you could potentially record and playback, without even having electricity!!
Its perfectly possible that even in Roman or Egyptian eras people could have built these things if the knowledge was there. The craftsmanship and materials were there. How cool would it be to hear a Cleopatra speech, or Roman leader.
