Hello, Everybody I'm brand new to using hardware for years I've used software vsti's only but recently decide to buy a couple bits of hardware and I'm unsure on how to uses them with Live 9 software on PC, what I would like to do is write midi parts in Live 9 using the sounds from my EMU Proteus, Nord Rack 2x or if that's not possible record then direct to live.
Now I have a Midi device, Yamaha Keyboard, Unpowered Mixing Desk, Nord Rack 2x, Emu Proteus 2000 I just would like some advice please n how to uses them with Live 9, I have looked on youtube and seen a couple of people using a Nord Rack 2x with a laptop which looks cool.
My main Is to record hardware sound units like Nord Rack 2x direct to live how do you it..?
Cheers from Joe

I could not work out from your post whether you simply want to be able to control the synths through MIDI from Live9 for performance, or whether you want to do this and record the audio out of the synths at the same time.
You twice use the expression "direct to live" - what do you mean by that?

Hi Joe, I do this all the time, its a bit hard to explain the process DAW to DAW. The biggest setback or frustration is latency. So, it sure helps to have a really good interface and CP that can handle low buffer setting so you can track the hardware along with the vsti in time.
