I need a LDC and preferably 2 tom mics. I would like to get two 421's but that only leaves me with 200 for the LDC.Opinions/Comments appreciated. TIA!

Well, the 421's are so versatile. You can use them on drums (toms), they're nicely intimate for acoustic guitar and a decent mic for vocals as well. You can't loose having 1 or 2 in your mic locker.

The 3035 is a great mic and a super bang for the buck. Female vocals, acoustic guitar, some woodwinds and a decent overhead and room mic.

If you were inclined to buy 421's to begin then there's a reason for that and you might wanna just go with it. The remaining $200 would get you 2 X 57's or 58's or even 2 X Audix i5's, or 1 X AT3035. Not bad choices to have any way you look at it.
