Hey all,
So I've been asked to record an a cappella group tomorrow, and my go-to method up to this point has been solo-tracking. I thought it would be okay doing this, using my Blueberry -> True Psolo -> RME Fireface 400 setup, but their group is huge - 18 members. And we have somewhat limited time (roughly 9 hours) to record 3 songs, with soloists, auxiliary parts, and beatbox.

I also happen to have a few other microphones at my disposal
2 SM57's
1 AKG D112

The parts are divided SATB, Solo, Beatbox, and Aux parts. So the question is, are there any ways to minimize vocal time spent by recording multiple parts at once, without severely affecting the recording quality?

E.g., are there certain voice parts that the sm57 would likely sound decent on? Or perhaps sending the sm57 through the PSolo, and sending the blue directly to the interface? Or is it unadvisable to mix different mics together for the same background part?

I've only really ever recorded with the Blueberry, and an Nt1-a before that, so I don't really know much about these other microphones. Thanks in advance!
