LOL... After I read that article, and got to the section on N/DYM's, I remembered that I actually might even have one of those EV N/DYM mics discussed in the article.

I knew that - at least at some point - I had an N/D 468, but I haven't used it for quite sometime, (like maybe even years)... but I looked today, and there it was - still in its case. LOL...
Truthfully? I forgot I even had it. I've been looking right at that case for a couple years now, each time I go to my cabinet to choose a mic... honestly I thought it was just an empty mic case (I have a few empty cases that I picked up when a local music store was going out of business a few years ago... they're good for storing little adapters and couplers and stuff). :rolleyes:

LOL... so yeah...you can say it, I deserve it... I'm an idiot. Who in the hell forgets about a mic for three years? Well, apparently yours truly does. Sigh. ;)

Anyway, I'm now thinking I'm gonna bust that puppy out and actually use it this week - maybe on my Fender Hot-Rod DeVille.

As I recall, it sounded very good on guitar amps. Actually, if I recall correctly, its sound was very similar to a Senny 421.
It's been awhile, I'm going to do a bit of research on it, or, if someone here knows the particulars of that mic, I'd sure appreciate whatever knowledge you have to share. :)

I have 6 N/D 757B mics for stage vocal use. I traded an old drum kit for them and a 57 and an old 58 and a road case for them. In the past I searched and searched for a mic that withstood my working the crap out of it from the stage. I have a whole box full of the results of my search. They all started life well and slowly deteriorated. Including my beloved SM58 from the 70's. Then I got the N/d's in the trade. I didn't particularly know that much about them at the time. I had used a couple of them here and there and didn't like the fact that the rubber sleeve wore out over time and then would have to be replaced. One night of singing with one of the N/D's was enough. I bought 6 new sleeves replacing even the ones that didnt need it and they have been the only stage mic I use with the bands PA system until Megan bought a wireless Sennheiser system....which is way cool also! So now I look wherever I can for N/D mics in the pawn shops the used mic sections of the guitar stores...enjoy
