As an example, a picture of me here http://recording.org could include a random rotation for our members studio's or other fun music related times.

Would it be cool to show case our members on the front page of recording org. Thoughts?

Probably not. Most everyone here is rather ugly, and everybody is already fairly weary of the "splayed fingers on the faders" gearporn shots.

My counter-suggestion would be to grab a yellow pages ad and leave the Internet to arguments and naked women.

I often think of Harvey Gerst holding a mic in the shower. A classic indeed.

The front page is being viewed by a lot of people so this is good. Tastefully, it could give a nice warm welcome to our community. There are all sorts of classic images like , cool studio set-ups, old guitars, bloopers etc. that could be very entertaining to say the least.

I think it's a cool thought. Although I think that along with the photo there should be a brief description of the ingredients? That looks like a lovely vintage Neve you are sitting behind? Your Neve looks bigger than my Neve? Boys have all the luck! I might even consider shelling out the $20 since I have been bothering everybody here since September?

The extremely cheap

maybe I should elaborate lol... Harvey was recording the sound of water I believe so what better way to get it than jumping in the shower.

2000. I follow, plugin aren't the focus but hardware in a rack are nice things to look at too. Cool mastering set-ups
There are great images of digital studios, rooms, booths, sessions and related events.

Even Sebatron soldering up some VMP's in his factory. Stuff like that.

Something new, something old... hmmm

Hi Dave, thats me at Bryan Adams warehouse studio. A fricken thrill of my summer of 2000. Three floors high. A glass wall of mics and rooms. Really cool studio. Old brick building that turns into a dream come true. Cars parked inside and the smell of gear. I wish I had more to show on that one.... actually, I have another pic I'll dig up on the third floor some time.

Ya, pic from the 70's would be awesome.

Next it'll be...

"Something pink, something BOLD?!?!" :-? :-? :-? :-?

...Let's not go THERE!!!

Still, it sounds like a nice feature... and so what if-n we're all ugly as homemade sin... that IS a requirement for this industry, right!

Pretty boys need not apply... Pretty women... welllll they're ALWAYS welcome!! Hell women in general are always welcome!... cause' it sure as hell beats lookin' at all us ugly guys all the time!

Go fer' it audiokid!

So would there be a sign-up form and an upload process? Maybe an actual forum and pull from the forum on a rotating basis?

I dunno, I'm just a stupid drummer...

Thanks o2x.

I'm trying coppermine. This software is really cool. I'm seeing many more uses for this program. I'm just learning what it all can do but my first ten minutes has me excited. It could evolve into a gallery area for alot more than just showcasing the front page. Maybe mic placement pics and more... This thing can do video too! It has unlimited categories and about 20 variable blocks that range from showing random pictures, descriptions of images, and galleries of pictures. very cool.

On the downside. images use bandwidth. It may be an issue for me.

Lets mess with it. The are also security issues that I need to be aware of so be cool with what we upload. This is only a test for now.
Here's the link. http://recording.org/modules.php?name=coppermine

I'll pop in a few blocks around the site. First block is at the bottom right of the site.

Cheers!
