Looks interesting, but I'm wondering if this is just another gimmick box targeted at home studio folk.
For those of you in the know, what are your thoughts about the dbx DriveRack Studio - gimmick, or something that's got some real utility?

We just bought one about 2 months ago that we use for live performances. It has the matching settings for the exact models of our Crown power amps and JBL speakers built-in, which is kinda cool. We use it mostly as an RTA, graphic EQ, and a x-over. I will ask our sound man what else he uses it for... (he was the one that wanted it in the first place).
I don't know that I personally notice much (if any) difference on stage, but since it is only being used for the mains, so I guess it makes sense that I wouldn't notice anything!
I can tell you that our sound man loves it...it has a "wizard-like" approach to setting up things like the RTA, which makes it easy to get your mind around making it work.

Skeetch,
Got the same notice!
Am equally as curious.
I use to do "on hold" music / voice over productions. Having the ability to imitate different set ups would be good if it actually worked without screwing up the the sound of my every day monitoring sound .
