What are the most popular sites for licensing music? I know that Ghetty Images now licenses music. Any others that get lots of traffic?
Do any of you know anyone who has made any kind of $$ by licensing music on these sites?

SoundDogs is a site I use sometimes for production sound-effects and music-beds for video and/or radio spots.
I've never sold them anything, and can't comment on how much, or how quickly they pay. There's a banner at the top of the page encouraging you to contact them.

Broadjam is one that I've been pursuing for about a year. I've made a few dollars at it (literally) The competition is fierce. But I find the feedback helpful.
Taxi is another one. (fees are higher)
Music Dealers is free to submit, but there's no feedback.
HitLicense looks promising. Low fees, and they seem fairly organized. But I haven't started with them yet.
Ghetty is also pretty hard to get into. (at least for me) If they turn you down, (and they did eventually turn me down even though I pre-qualified) I think there's a waiting period before you can submit again.

Most successful folks don't submit their music to anyone. They are production music companies. DE Wolff music library was something I used extensively in the past. A good 30+ years ago. And you purchase this production music for use in TV, radio, commercials, industrials. With some, you purchase entire libraries or parts thereof. Some simply charge a needle drop fee for individual pieces? Others only license to use for certainly the time on a subscription oriented level. And these people are quite prolific and what they do. They write hundreds and hundreds of cases of different musical genres and produce all of them, in-house. They're not interested in your submissions.
Another one is 615 Music in Nashville. And they might accept outside work? Though as far as I know, they are self-contained production music company? So a lot of this is not who's going to buy your stuff but how you're going to market your own music. I know lots of super excellent songwriters and all he wants is someone famous to purchase one of their songs to perform. And no one ever has. And all of the stuff I've used from 615 Music has been absolutely fabulous sounding stuff. Exciting, dynamic, certainly better than a lot of crappy rock 'n roll I've heard. It's not as much rock 'n roll as it is avant-garde while still being rock 'n roll.
A lot of these companies if you simply search production music will probably all come up and there's hundreds of them. You're not going to see help wanted signs though you might? It's a highly competitive field. Everybody wants their stuff playing on the major market TV stations. And it's that nonsense news music.
Tonight at 11... engineer is found dead connected to his power amplifier. The economy is in collapse and Harman industry is giving away equipment. With people lined up around the block. All this and more along with weather and sports at 11.

doubtful you would see a farthing unless you do your own promotion and distribution. you don't get magic money just for licensing your music. if that were the case we'd all be filth rich ....
