Hi guys,

I'm considering to buy a Telefunken V72 for 400 euro.
I've heard it has a fixed 35 db of gain, is that true ? Are there any other things I have to know before I buy this (I think) great unit ?
It's serviced a week ago.

yes theyt have 35 db of gain and 15db of headroom. i don't know how it was serviced last week but ususially the serfvicing on them isn't very good. it is very difficult to find ef 804 and ef 806 tubes which is the tubes they're supposed tohave. the v72a has 42 db of gainb and the v72s which was the one used in the beatles redd37 console had 38db of gain. the ones in the baetles console also have line amplifiers that ran behind the v72s that supplied more gain down the line and rand the console with more heardroom than 15db
