Hi, I have a not-so-accasional digital click creeping into my audio tracks. Doesn't matter whether its tracking with mics or going out and in through outboard gear. The click appears to flatline the wave for a few mil. Currently I'm using a MAC g4 with DP 4.6 with a MOTU 828. So far I've just been editing them out, but its a massive pain annd the results are not always great.
I have stable power now, so I assume its either the computer, the program or the 828. Will upgrading to the MOTU 192 HD fix this or is there something else I'm missing? New MAc? New software? Thanks in advance.

Are you recording to your system disk?
That could be the problem, OSX will ALLWAYS use part of your hard drive for virtual memory, and may delay some DP processes until it handles OS housekeeping.
Get a dedicated audio drive.
Also 1Gb RAM minumum for trouble free recording, and you can also try raising your buffer size.
