I'm feeling stupid here but how do I back up each individual song to CD('s) with only the used audio files and also the automation, pans, mixer settings?
I also need to be able to send a complete song to another Logic 5.5 platinum user via FTP. It is my understanding that exporting the song to OMF or Open TL will ignore any automation or mixer settings.
Thanks in advance for any tips, I need to start cleaning off my audio drive.

OMF or Open TL is used only when going from one platform to another.

When staying in the same platform there is no need to export the song that way.

Open TL is more for the Tascam MX2424 series machines than anything.

As far as how to optimize the audio pool for Logic I'm not quite sure. In Nuendo there is a "remove unused media" feature that you can do to help clean it up. Once that is done take the whole project folder and use WinRAR to compress and send via the ftp.

That's the way I have it done for some of the people I mix for. It's quite convenient.

Hope that helps

In Logic6 you can do a save as project.

Saving in this manner brings up a dialog box, that allows you to copy or move audio, sample instruments, and the samples they use.

There is also an option for using all of the audio ibn the Audio Window, or only the audio that is currently being used.

If you are on a Mac you can demo Logic6 for 28 days.
If not this is useless information.
;) :p
