anyone had a chance to use the Focusrite liquid mix?
(Dead Link Removed)
i have a UAD card that i use with DigitalPerformer 5 and love it. it's pretty much all i use for mixing. that and altiverb.
this piece looks very promising though and the price is right - especially if you really can get 32 channels. i like the hardware front end too.

Doesnt really matter that computers are dual core now...try running 30 instances of any set of good plugins on any PC or Mac and it'll crash. I think DSP processors are pretty cool and decently priced for the most part. Liquid Mix is very nice cwalcott. Check out the SSL Duende...really good sound from those comps and EQs.

the SSL unit I refered to above IS the Duende
I spent last weekend with one and ended up thinking that EQ3 from Digidesign was better.
The bus comp was ok but not that far from the plug that is already available seperately.
but it will make an existing native system more potent.
The Duende did seem to be available in many of the applications ranging from Garage to Logic ... and of course ProTools
I didn't get time to try FCP

no desk top remote but a similar unit
interesting
... but with the very powerful Duo Core 2 stuff on both platforms I 'm not sure where these products are headed. If the plugs where available seperately there may be little point buying the hardware.
The future looks interesting.
